Oxyproline and uronic acids as diagnosis tests at diabetes in domestic cats

D. V. Morozenko

The question of diagnostic information level of oxyproline egestion and uronic acids at diabetes of cats is discussed in the publication. It is found out that the maintenance of an oxyproline and uronic acids in urine at diabetes increased 2 times in comparison with clinically healthy animals. It testifies to disturbance of metabolism of connecting tissue owing to development of serious complication of diabetes - a diabetic nephropathy. The augmentation of the maintenance of oxyproline and uronic acids testifies to destruction of structure of collagen in kidneys, and also glycosaminoglycans destruction which are part of renal glomerulus. Also at cats sick on diabetes it was taped glucosuria, ketonuria, proteinuria, microhematuria, bilirubinuria, leukocyturia and cylindruria. Development of urinary syndrome is caused by toxic action of a glucose on the glomerular apparatus of kidneys.
