Plasma fatty acid composition in cows under feeding rapeseed

O. Y. Tsisaryk, H. V. Dronyk

The results of studies of fatty acids in cows' blood plasma under feeding them rapeseed variety Danhal are presented in this article. Lipid complex of rapeseed makes modification of the composition blood fatty acids, which shows a tendency to saturation decrease, decreasing content of medium-chain saturated fatty acids (C12-C16), increasing the ratio between the content of PUFA n-3 and n-6 series, and increasing level of trans-11 C18:1. These changes of blood fatty acids composition is a prerequisite for changing the fatty acid composition of milk fat towards enhancing its biological value.
