The article presents literature data and results of own researches of biological role of selenium in cows and bull-sires organism. The data of the impact of feeding selenium-containing drug "Sel-Plex" on reproductive capacity and productivity of dairy cows are presented. This article also highlights the impact of chelate form of selenium in combination with vitamin E and chromium chloride on quality parameters (ejaculate volume, concentration, activity and resistance of spermatozoa) sperm and succinatedehydrogenase activity and cytochromiumoxidase of bulls sperm. It was established that feeding bull sires chelate form of selenium at a rate of 3,0 mg Se/animal/day in combination with vitamin E in doses of 280 mg/animal/day and chromium chloride at a rate of 4,0 mg Cr/animal/day showed positive impact on reproductive function of bull-sires, in particular the volume of ejaculate, concentration, activity and resistance of spermatozoa.
