Effect of elevated quantity of selenium on biochemical indices of blood cows plasma and milk yields

Data about influence of selenite sodium and selenium methionine fed cows in doses 0,2 and 0,5 mg/kg of DM (as elementary selenium) on biochemical indices of blood cows plasma and milk yields are presented in the article. Selenium methionine more than sodium selenite increased selenium concentration in the cows blood plasma. Supplementation of cows diet with 0,5 mg/kg of selenium methionine increased protein concentration in the blood plasma. Selenium methionine and sodium selenite added to cows diet as 0,5 mg/kg DM decreased total cholesterol concentration in blood plasma. Addition of 0,5 mg/kg of DM selenium methionine increased milk yields and elevated milk fat content.
