It was shown in experiments in vitro, that addition of salts lead, cadmium and chromium, microelements - iron, zinc and copper to the incubation environment with content of cattle's rumen had positive effects on growth and vital functions of microorganisms. Under influence of iron ions and zinc on the growth of microorganisms' population, the production of volatile fatty acids and amylotic activity noticeably increased. The stimulation effect of copper ions on cellulosic activity was also quite noticeable, but its effect on microbial cells growth was much weaker.
