Seasonal dynamics of the mitotic processes in the hair follicles of precos breed sheeps

N. S. Strohush

The data about seasonal features of the mitotic processes in the hair follicles of precos breed are presented in this article. It was shown that in the hair follicles few cells start the mitotic division immediately, and then the process continues by capturing additional cells. The mitotic activity depends on the bulb's diameter. The highest level of the mitotic activity of cells occurs in summer-autumn period. Decrease of mitosis in the secondary follicles was observed in winter period. In addition, during the winter-spring period, the lowest rates of mitotic activity in both primary and secondary follicles were recorded. The proportional dependency between mitotic activity and wool growth was also established. The highest level of wool growth took place in summer-autumn period, and the lowest - in the winter-spring period.
