Correlation between concentration of cystine in wool with morphological indices of young rabbit fur
I. Luchin
Studies on the content of cystine in wool of 2, 3, and 4-month young rabbits breed local chinchilla (LC), Flanders (F), White Giant (WG) and three-bred hybrids (4/8 WG 3/8LC 1/8F). It was revealed that incresed accumulation of cystine in the wool of three-bred animals, and the concentration of cystine was higher in the group of local chinchilla animals. Fast-mature White Giant breed rabbits had the lowest content of cystine in wool, which is connected with the lack of body pigment (melanin) and the content of keratin in it. The 4-month young 4-origin hair density and uniformity was estimated. Positive correlation between the content of cystine and the density of wool was revealed. These markers are the best of in young rabbits origin local chinchilla and three-bred hybrids (new-breed chinchilla).
