The content of products of lipid peroxidation and the activity of antioxidation enzymes in skeletal muscles of chicken with different level of dietary chromium

N. P. Nenych, B. M. Kurtjak

The influence of addition of chromium 400, 800, 1600, 3200 mkg/kg of mixed fodder in form of chromium chloride on the content of lipid peroxidation products and the activity of antioxidant enzymes in skeletal muscles of broilers was studied. It was established that the addition of chromium to chicken diet in dose 800-3200 mkg/kg leads to reliable decrease of content of lipid hydroperoxides and the increase of the renewed glutatione level. The level of chromium in chicken diet does not influence significantly on the activity of superoxide dismutase and glutatione peroxidase in skeletal muscles.
