Influence of different amount of grain concentrates and sunflower seed cake in dairy cows diets on fatty acid composition of rumen digesta
O. V. Golubets
Influence of feeding cows with sunflower seed cake on fatty acids composition of rumen digesta of dairy cows was investigated. Increasing conjugated linoleic acid, trans-isomers of oleic acid and stearic acid in lipids of rumen digesta from cows fed sunflower seed cake were marked. Concentrations of transvaccenic acid and cis9, trans 11-CLA were much higher in comparison with control while concentration of trans10-18:1 increased a little bit and amount of trans10,cis12-18:2 was lower. Dietary carbohydrates level affected microbial fatty acids synthesis. In the rumen contents of cows fed diets with lower amount of starch less odd and branched chain fatty acid were found.
