The modern state and prospects of carpathian mountain sheep breeding development

The modern state of mountain sheep breeding of Carpathian region is analyzed, development prospects and the main ways of its exit from a crisis are outlined in the paper. It was shown the primary majority of a livestock of sheep is in a private sector where it is not spent selection and breeding that leads to decrease breeding and productivity qualities of animals and loss of a valuable local genofond. The main ways of an exit of crisis are a comprehensive approach to the use and production of the industry. Only an integrated approach which is to use everything that can be obtained from the sheep such as milk, cheese and meat, wool may be the basis of economic efficiency.
