The influence of sodium selenite and selen-methionine on the biochemical indices of antioxidant blood status of cows

The data about the influence of feeding sodium selenite and selen-methionine on antioxidant status and biochemical indices in cows blood are presented in the article. It was established that sodium selenite and selen-methionine reliably decreases the blood level of hydroperoxides (P < 0,001). Selen-methionine increases the activity of glutathione peroxidase more than sodium selenite (P < 0,05). The blood plasma level of selenium 1,5 fold increases under the influence of feeding both compounds.
