The fatty acid composition of total lipids of skeletal muscles of broilers chikens depending on level and form of dietary selenium

L. P. Andriychuk, V. G. Yanovich

The data about the influence of sodium selenite and selenium-methionine in dose of 0.3 mg/kg of food on fatty acid composition of total lipids in skeletal muscles of broilers are presented in the article. It has been established that the addition of sodium selenite leads to the increase arachidonic, docosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids and the addition of selenium methionine increases the level of these fatty acids and also palmitoleic, linoleic and linolenic acids.
