I. V. Novak, E. I. Fedorovych
Morphological and biochemical blood composition in the first-calf cows of Black-and-White Ukrainian breed in the western region of Ukraine were studied. It was established that during the whole lactation periods the biochemical blood measurements were within the physiological norm. The depression of red blood count, total glutathione concentration, total sulfhydryl group content, and increasing of serum glutamic oxalacetic transaminase activity and of albumen quantity were observed during the lactation period. During the lactation period insignificant decreasing of alanine aminotransferase in blood serum and V- and u- globulin concentration were marked and at the same time hematonic and content total protein increase were observed. The indexes of renewed glutathione and protein SH-groups were increasing till the 5-6-th month of the lactation period, and later went down; and opposite the concentration of oxidated glutathione decreased at first definitely,
and later stayed on without changes. There was no great difference between the content of glucose, globulin and residue SH-groups in the blood serum during the lactation period. Metabolic processes of first-calf cows were more intensive in early lactation period.
