Selenium role in functioning of endocrine system, organs and tissues of animals

Available literature data concerning selenium biological role in animals and human body are summarized and presented in the article. Role of selenium-containing proteins in carcinogenesis prevention and selenium role in functioning of thyroid gland, hypophysis, pineal gland, mammary gland, male and female reproductive organs and physiology of bone, skin and muscle tissues is presented in this article.
