Application of high temperature gas chromatography for determination triglyceride composition of milk fat

The method for determination of milk fat triglyceride composition by high-temperature gas chromatography is described. The gas chromatograph СР-3800 (Varian) with a flame ionization detector was used. For division of triglycerides the capillary column with a non-polar phase was utilized. Sample solution was injected by a method of hot injection. Under the chosen conditions it was possible to receive satisfactory division of basic groups of triglycerides from C24 to C54. Amount of each group of triglycerides was calculated with correction factor obtained from analysis of a certificated sample of milk fat. With the help of the given method was determined triglycerides profile of summer and winter milk samples. The difference in the contents of triglyceride groups C32-C36, C42-С44, C52-С54 were found.
