Lipid metabolism in the rumen of cows when the level of sugar in their diet is increased
I. V. Vudmaska
Influence of substitution of part of fiber by sugar in the diet of dry standing cows has been investigated. As it has been pointed out, the elevated level of sugar in cow diet has increased the phospholipids and decreased the branched and unpaired-chain fatty acids concentration in the rumen. Increasing level of the sugar in diet has lowered the rates of lipolysis and biohydrogenation in ruminal contents.
